The name of my party was originally Beach and Being Bums, so you would think that this would have been on the beach. Well, the forecast not only called for rain, but hail and thunder. Instead of canceling, I decided to have a Middle Eastern theme party. Thank goodness our patio is covered, so I spread out different colored fabrics, and cushions. Instead of the meal I had planned, I served falefal , chumus, shwarma and of course challah and wine.

By the time the rain hit, the party was in full swing and no one minded. It was actually pretty neat eating outside in the rain, but staying dry. I played some Israeli music I had purchased on the trip, and it was a blast. I must admit even though it wasn't what I had planned, it was the best Shabbat ever, and now I am even grateful it rained and my original plans had to be changed. It will forever be one of my most memorable Shabbats!!!
